  • Brand Spanking New Xanga Account

Yeah...I know, I haven't posted anything in nearly a year.  I finally feel like doing it again.  ...but, different.

Here's the deal.  I want to start posting on Xanga again, but I don't really want to associate it with my old xanga account.  That sounds weird, I know, but I have my reasons.  For those of you still on Xanga that are my friends now, comment me here and I will send you a message with my new account name so we can still keep in touch.  Thanks, and see ya on there!

  • Mmmm...shiny.

I'm talking about our new TV.
Or should I say....HDTV.  Oh yes.  It's a 42 inch 1080p Sanyo, and it is the best thing since sliced bread.  I still can't even believe the thing is in our living room.
We've been watching Blu-Rays and playing PS3 games almost nonstop.  We even have HD channels on our cable @_@.  I loves it.  I loves it alot.

Oh oh oh I just had the most amazing little conversation with my husband.  So, I am in here writing my Xanga, and trying to listen to my Chris talk about a new card game that's coming out that honestly doesn't interest me, and since it's really hard to write and think and listen all at the same time, I just said, "Go go go!  You're chattier than a girl, only more boring!"
    "Ohhhh, fine."
    "I loooove you!"
    "I love you too...heh."
    "Hey, at least I'm honest!"
"Yeah...I dunno how I feel about that.  Haha."
Bahaha.  I love married life.  I can't wait till we're old and get really good at fun-sarcastic-insulting each other.  You know those old couples that do that, they make me smile.  You know they really love each other, but they're honest enough to tell the truth and have a little fun with it (without hurting each other's feelings).

Anywho, back to wherever I was going with this post.

So Emily's Vlog inspired me to try my own, and I did, buuuut I don't think I will be posting me making a fool of myself on the world wide web for all to see.  ...it involved me dancing, holding Ryu up to the camera going "Ryu says he loooves you cause he's so fluffy...ohhhh...loookit dat faaace," as well as Chris throwing hackey sacks at me and dressing up in a black mask with a Mokona hat on, yelling, "I KEEEL YOU!"  Yeeeeah...it was special.  And not to be seen by human eyes.  Ever.  Lest your brain melt out of your head.

Part of that Vlog I was going to post was info on the Halloween Masquerade (yet again).  I've narrowed the dates down to Fri. the 31st or Sat. the 1st - Halloween weekend.  I picked up a bunch of cheap masks so you guys don't have to shop for any, but of course if you want to bring your own that's fine too.  They were very plain masks though so I also picked up some shiny things, trim, feathers, etc. so we can fix them up however we want to.  Amber and Michanne and I have planned a menu, full of fancy Steampunk-ish and Halloween-ish dishes.  And I am more excited about this than I ever was.  As soon as I get a specific time settled I will create  a group on Facebook so you guys can RSVP.  I am asking for donations for the cost of food and the masks($3-5, but if you can't no biggie), and any other ideas for the night would be greatly appreciated.

  • Time Together

Things have been so hectic lately, that Chris and I have hardly gotten any good time to spend just with each other.  I was almost feeling like an old married couple.

He's so busy with work, classes, and his practicum, and I am working full-time, doing almost all the household chores and bill-paying/budgeting.  When we're both actually home and not having to work on things, it seems like Amber and her friends are always here.  Now, I love my sister-in-law to death, and her friends are fun, but lately it's almost felt like we've gained three children, suddenly.  Not that they're kids, but, we have rowdy things in the house all the time, extra mouths to feed, and Chris is constantly going, "Amber, stop, we don't want anyone getting hurt" or "Amber, c'mon, you'll break the couch."

Chris had to have a talk with her the other day about expecting us to provide food for not only her, but her friends as well.  We are doing much better off financially but, we're about to invest in a new TV, Christmas is coming up, and we're finally building up a savings plan.  Paying for all this extra stuff is kind of throwing those plans off.  Not to mention the fact that their constant freeloading is just not right, especially when they can afford their own food, and the fact that they have meal plans.  After he talked to her she felt sorry, and gave us some money to cover the food from this last week.  I honestly don't think she knew it was a burden to us.  So, that problem was solved, I hope.

However there was still the problem of not having any time with each other, because she and her friends are -always- over whenever we aren't at work (sometimes even when we are), so Chris, in this same talk, told her that we were having a Date Night last night, so she should make other plans with James and Michanne.  I think we will have to have these date nights every couple of weeks or so, because it was just so nice.

It wasn't anything exciting, we just had a nice dinner, watched Iron Man, and just cuddled up and talked for a loong time.  It has been so long since we've just talked for awhile.  And at the end of the night, we prayed together.  This is something we used to do every night before we went to sleep when we were first married, but that routine kind of stopped when things got busy, and now Chris goes to sleep hours after me because our sleep schedules are so different (I usually work mornings, he usually works evenings).  I didn't realize how much we had been missing it.  Praying together was the one time in the day that we made sure to focus on our relationship together being about God first.

To those of you getting married, make sure to stay connected to God in your relationship, and don't lose that.  And don't ever let your marriage slip into routine, it's surprising how easily that can happen.

  • Today I shot my friend in the back...

Well, not literally.  Epically failed in the Wheel of Time Campaign today and yeah, shot my own party member.  >.>  There were so many battles U_U I think I got a little disoriented.  I have to say, Chris has got me way too into this role-playing stuff.  I went crazy today and planned out my entire new character for the upcoming Slayers campaign (which I am oh-so-excited about, because it's like playing an anime, and will be completely and utterly ridiculous).  Anyone who wants to join let me know, we probably won't be starting it for another couple of months though.  I'm just...crazy.  Wheel of Time is fun and all, but it's typical.  Slayers is so crazy, I love it.  But yeah, here's my character idea (without all the stats and stuff):

    Name: Analaysia Madira Leires Xaaritin
    Race: Half-Human, Half-Demon
    Class: Noble/Loremaster
    Future Prestige Class Aspiration: Sorceror
    Weapon of choice: Rapier
Background: The only daughter of the great and noble Count Meriton Feros Linal Xaaritin of Mosquita (the arts/theater center of the Slayers world).
Personality: Overly-dignified, proud of her knowledge and scholarly habits.  She is obsessed with the morality of common people, and often rants about ethical issues.  She often breaks out into song or spouts off a monologue (probably due to her theatrical upbringing) when she has accomplished something or is excited.  She is touchy about her gray hair, often hospitalizing those who would dare accuse her of being older than her age.
Appearance: Long wavy gray hair and pale skin due to the majority of her time spent indoors studying.  She wears a short-skirted dress with a high, laced collar, and a gold circlet on her head to accentuate her nobility and elegance, and the knee-high boots she wears are also gold-trimmed and buttoned.

And just to make your day a little shinier, here's something I drew during campaigning today with, I assure you, absolutely no mental thought whatsoever.  Enjoy.

  • Ryu's Modeling Career

After lunch today, Chris and Ryu donned their black hoodies to attend their very first photoshoot together.  It was a shoddy operation with a cheap background near the highway, causing Ryu to frantically look off to his side almost constantly while cars shot by, but, we got pictures and chocolate, and he got mice outta the deal, so I'd say it was worth it.

Yeah, Walgreen's had a "Pet Photo Shoot" day for charity, so I took our kitty, and entered him into the pet/owner look-a-like contest.  I dun think we won though.  >.>
    It was fun.

Yesterday was Swedish Meatball, which was funness as always.  Unfortunately, Maggie and I loafed around talking until like 2:30 in the morning about the good old days, Miku Miku's dancing, and my obscenely-hilarious-break-up-letter-with-Shroom-post.  So, we all spent anime-watchings just trying not to collapse, and about half of us did.  It was still funs though.
Shroom, we all decided that it is imperitive that you visit us, mayhaps for the Steampunk Masquerade?  Or any freetime really, come come!  We've decided to make a nice little surprise for you if you do.

To those of you not Shroom, umm, go away.  Well I guess you can stay and look at the fluffy thing pictures.
